Chase and Raisin were the right combination for making
great Raisinettes! Kenzee is the love of my life, the
center of my universe. Twizzler, her given movie-candy name, was red-collared girl and the second of six (the
first girl) to make her appearance during the wee hours of March 21, 2005. From the start, she demonstrated confidence,
independence, great social skills, and beautiful conformation. Thankfully, my handling skills were better honed by the
time it came to show her. My first bred-by-exhibitor pup, I proudly worked her and she
finished her championship with no problem. Like her mom, four 4-point majors and some change (though
in a much shorter span)...with nice compliments from her judges along the way. She even took Best in Sweepstakes
at a VCMA specialty show at seven months old!
Kenzee shows grace and aptitude in the field, like her mom. Very early on,
she showed her natural ability to find and point quail with enormous enthusiasm and style. And, like her mom she
qualified in four attempts each during her Junior and Senior hunt tests. We also took to field trialing,
where she placed in several Derby stakes and winning first place in Amateur Derby at a GSP trial with 16
starters on her last run before she aged out. It was during that run when I watched her honor her tiny Brittany
bracemate on point. What a thrill!!
Quite unlike her stubborn mom, Mackenzee was very easy to train and to
break. As a broke dog, Kenzee hangs with the best of 'em. In her first season participating in gundog stakes,
she placed in 15 walking and riding field trials with me on foot. She won a 3-point major in
her first Open Gun Dog stake, and is closing in on her Field and Amateur Field Championships!
Not bad for just getting our feet wet in a four-month span. She also won the Tampa Bay Vizsla Club 2009 Amateur
Dog of the Year award against very tough competition, including Field and Amateur Champions! I am one proud
mama, and look forward to more fun in the field with my little freckle-nosed munchkin.
