Silly monkey, July 24, 2010

What can I say about my little pixie?  Alex (orange girl) is my tomboy who stole my heart very early on.  She makes a full time job out of being on the go.  At one year, she is finally beginning to bond big time, showing affection often and crawling into my lap for some nap time.  But when outdoors, hiking or at a field trial, she's as independent as the day is long.  Alex is all business - and FUN!!!

Alex started her field trial career in puppy and derby stakes, competing at some six or seven trials, overcoming new fears like big horses, handlers making sounds and noises she'd never heard before and other puppies out to play.  That is all part of the game and she was excited to learn the rules and figure it all out.  Not too long after finding her zone, she started placing.  And then one February weekend, 2011, she won both Open and Amateur Puppy stakes at the Tampa Bay Vizsla Club field trial in Mascotte, FL.  The girl turned it ON and had me working hard to keep up.

Alex is the quintessential combination of her gorgeous and sweet mommy Kenzee and handsome, biddable and extremely talented Axel.  With her more athletic build, I see more endurance and push.  I also see her grandma Raisin's keen sense of independence and her Onpoint's strong willingness to handle.  This monkey seems to have all the qualities I'd hoped for in this breeding - and more.  She is my little love.
